This post offers a great opportunity for an experienced and strategically minded Clinical Research Manager/ Matron to lead and manage on the transition of research from the current Principal Treatment Centre at the Royal Marsden and St George’s to Evelina London.
The post holder will be responsible for the transfer of research studies and clinical trial activity – including ensuring that transition process enables the PTC research team and the existing Evelina London research portfolio to maintain research delivery to time and target for both commercial and non-commercial studies. The post holder will also establish processes to support the transfer of the PTC research delivery team, ensuring adequate support is provided to investigators and their teams.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of Research Workforce, R&D Lead and Research Matrons at respective sites to support the transfer of the clinical trial and research study portfolio, workforce, and all key performance indicators related to the Trust/NIHR research objectives.
The successful applicant will have experience in clinical research, change management and service delivery. Previous line management and budgetary management experience are essential.
The Research Transition Manager will be responsible for leading the transition of research and clinical trial services from the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust to Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. In this pivotal role in the Children’s Cancer Programme. The post holder, alongside research leads, will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of all phases of the research transition process. The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with researchers, clinical staff, administrative teams, and external partners to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing research projects. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive transition plans, managing timelines, and ensuring compliance with research protocols throughout the transition.

· Project manage programme workstreams and sub-workstreams associated with the transfer of the research portfolio, supporting the smooth transition of a critical service to Evelina London by October 2026, and beyond.
· Responsible for managing and assessing a complex range of data involving the NIHR research portfolio and making informed recommendations which are focussed on outcomes that meet the objectives of the PTC Transformation programme.
· Responsible for the implementation and coordination of the R&D workstream as part of the PTC Programme.
· Facilitate meetings of clinicians, managers, patients and other partners to agree and negotiate priorities and action plans.
· Liaise with centres of excellence and expert advisory groups and ensure that the projects reflect current good and evidence-based practice.
· Develop, in conjunction with R&D Leads, Matrons and PTC Operational leads, relevant pathways of care and related Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidance and protocols to improve models of care and governance related to the integration of the research portfolios.
· Responsible for the regulation and merger of incoming policies with Trust standards.
· Communicate highly complex, contentious and sensitive information on the progress of the projects and programme to key stakeholders, where negotiation and influencing skills are required to evoke action
· Proactively problem-solve and negotiate where issues arise in the development and implementation of the project.
· Develop reports or information relevant to the programme, liaising closely with the communication managers and bringing together outcomes from a variety of workstreams to contribute.
· Work autonomously across multiple professional, organisational and system boundaries and proactively plan, develop and sustain new partnerships and networks to influence and improve patient related outcomes and healthcare delivery system
