To work as part of the Fleet Team in managing the repair and maintenance of a fleet of HGV Vacuum Tankers as well as managing and ensuring compliance to our operator’s licence. With extensive experience of HGV fleets you will play a key role in the monitoring of costs and reducing vehicle downtime from our internal workshop and network of third-party garages across the UK. This is a predominantly office based role but one day a week will be from home if you wish, you will be required to travel around the country when needed with frequent visits to our main repair / MOT garages as well as gate checks.
Responsibilities:
1. To ensure the tankers are maintained in line with company policy and legislation.
2. Manage and monitor service the repair costs with garages.
3. Ensure all service documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
4. Interpret service sheets and reports to identify existing and potential vehicle faults.
5. To highlight any tankers which do not comply with company specifications and/or current legislation.
6. Visit vehicles for audit, inspection and to confirm works required by garages.
7. Assist drivers in diagnosing and solving minor technical issues.
8. Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses from a technical perspective.
9. Maintain our FORS status and assist in working toward Earned Recognition.
10. Manage vehicle CCTV system.
Desirable:
1. Irtec Approved Inspection Technician.
2. Experience with Jetting Equipment and Vacuum Tankers.
3. Knowledge of DAF’s.
Experience:
1. Have experience with HGV repairs and maintenance.
2. Experience in invoicing and costings for parts and labour.
3. Experience of gully suckers, vacuum tanks and recyclers would be beneficial but not essential.
4. High level of enthusiasm and good communication skills.
5. Basic knowledge of Microsoft package – Word, Excel and Outlook.
6. Good organisational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
7. Ability to work autonomously.
8. Ability to work well in a team.
Qualifications:
1. Full UK Driving license – Required.
2. HGV Licence – Preferable.
3. Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence – Preferable.
