The Role:
Responsible for managing multiple departments from first fit through to delivery. Develop and manage a range that meets customer requirements for quality and fit whilst maximising sales and profit opportunities and minimising returns. Negotiate with the departmental supplier base to deliver consistent quality, fit, and ways of working, and facilitate better cost prices and lead times.

What you’ll be doing:
* Managing fitting and sealing of multiple departments
* Maintaining departmental quality, fit, testing, and grading standards to ensure compliance
* Collaborating with buying, design, and supply base to develop blocks, basic fit, and quality standards aligned with customer trends
* Sharing ideas and developments across product areas for brand consistency
* Conducting comprehensive product risk assessments and resolving issues pre-production
* Managing the product development process from first fit to production, liaising with various teams
* Developing suitable products with capable suppliers
* Understanding product construction and mass production suitability
* Adapting products to minimise costs
* Negotiating effectively to achieve quality, fit, cost, and timeline objectives
* Managing packaging and labeling to ensure brand and legal compliance
* Conducting store visits to identify faults and improve quality
* Monitoring market trends and competitor advances to inform strategy
* Reviewing supplier compliance and quality test reports to resolve issues
* Reviewing grade rules for accuracy
* Completing supplier, factory, testing, and distribution trips as needed
* Providing advanced quality and fit reporting to inform strategy and improvements
* Contributing quality and fit input to SP packs
* Motivating and developing direct reports; supporting colleagues with training and development
* Communicating effectively with internal and external teams
* Applying New Look brand strategy within own area
Who you are:
* Experience as a Junior Technologist with a major retailer, supplier, or New Look
* Qualifications: a fashion qualification or other degree plus four years of technical experience; or at least five years of technical experience without a fashion qualification
* Proficient in developing product ranges with consistent quality and fit
* Skilled in creating clear design briefs with measurements and fabric/trim specs
* Deep understanding of product testing and reviewing failed results
* Knowledge of size grading and styling adaptations
* Understanding of fabric and trim specifications for product suitability
* Awareness of all elements contributing to product cost
* Understanding of supply chain processes for efficient sourcing
* Knowledge of factory processes and ability to identify issues and cost-saving opportunities
* Ability to analyze returns data to inform departmental strategy
* Experience in developing and implementing departmental and business strategies
* Understanding of packaging, presentation, and legal considerations
* Familiarity with New Look brand and sub-brand strategies
* Knowledge of the current competitive marketplace
