Job Description
This critical role bridges procurement, quality control, purchasing and inventory management within the medical cannabis sector. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth industry knowledge especially concerning specialised medicines and pharmaceutical importation and distribution, along with a solid grasp of UK regulatory standards. As a key member of a dynamic start up environment, you will ensure products meet the highest quality and compliance standards, managing the complexities of the supply chain to support the company's growth goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Procurement Compliance & Supplier Management:
* Assess all supplier products referred by the procurement team, and assist with onboarding new suppliers to establish a reliable, compliant supply chain.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential suppliers to ensure consistent product quality.
* Validate all products to confirm compliance with UK standards and regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
* Ensure all procured products meet UK quality standards. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth import processes.
* Maintain thorough documentation of product specifications, certifications and compliance records.
* Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team and external partners to conduct inspections and testing incoming products.
Logistics and Inventory Management:
* Manage inbound logistics to guarantee timely and effective product delivery.
* Oversee inventory storage, control stock levels, and implement systems to maintain optimal stock levels.
* Work closely with distribution partners to manage product movement to ensure timely stock release.
* Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies, supporting inventory management tasks until ware staff are in place.
Team Collaboration and Culture:
* Embrace a hands-on, proactive approach with a startup environment, taking on a variety of tasks as required.
* Cultivate a collaborative at, working closely with colleagues across departments to achieve business objectives.
* Contribute to the development of the company culture, participating in team building activities and retreats planned.
Market Analysis and Strategic Insights:
* Remain informed of industry trends, market conditions and regulatory developments affecting the medical cannabis sector.
* Provide strategic insights to the team based on market analysis and regulatory updates.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
* Solid experience in Good Distribution Practices (GDP)
* Minimum of three years’ experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management or purchasing within specialised or pharmaceutical imports.
* Proven experience working with the UK regulatory frameworks.
Skills and Competencies
* Demonstrated skill in validating and ensuring the import of complaint specialised products for the UK.
* Proficient with procurement software ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to a range of audiences.
* Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.

Salary & Benefits:
£60,000-£70,000
