ADAS, part of RSK Group, is seeking a Ecologist to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. This role will be hybrid, predominantly home based with travel to one of our offices in Essex.
ADAS is the UK's largest independent environmental and agricultural consultancy. Our goal as a company is two-fold: secure British food and enhance the environment. Established over 75 years ago and part of RSK Group since 2016, we offer high-quality, research-based tailored solutions for a wide-ranging client base.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertaking baseline habitat survey, assessment and reporting.
2. Working alone and with our existing ecologists in the wider region to ensure quality projects are delivered on time to our clients.
3. Talking to our clients to ensure quality delivery of projects to deadlines.
4. Writing of technical reports ready for review by your colleagues, such as ecological constraints reports, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and protected species reports.
Person Specification:
Essential:
1. A full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
2. Graduate level education in a relevant subject.
3. Good working knowledge and experience of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques, including protected species surveys and mitigation.
4. Excellent written communication skills and be able to produce accurate technical reports to a professional standard.
5. A pro-active attitude to managing your own time, finding solutions and ensuring that work is delivered on time and to the required standards.
Desirable:
1. CIEEM membership.
2. Experience of Biodiversity Net Gain assessment and UKHABs.
3. Strong botanical skills (e.g., NVC, Condition Assessments).
4. One protected species licence (e.g., Great Crested Newt or Bats).
