We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Product Engineer (Electronics) to join our engineering team at our Great Yarmouth facility working on challenging and innovative projects that are important drivers for our continued growth. In this important role, you will be r esponsible for the provision of high reliability microelectronics product and circuit design and documentation in support of new product introductions as well as supporting and updating for existing products. Main Responsibilities: Take engineering ownership of projects and products. Engage with internal and external customers throughout the product and process life cycle Be the Engineering Lead for specific products and projects Ensure robust root cause analysis is conducted for all failures with corrective action plans Participate in Design FMEA Deal with design changes/obsolescence issues Review stage gates on repeat orders – check for historic issues and capability changes Review configuration to ensure documentation is in line with customer specifications Review requirements for both design and testing of products Be a delegated authority to the Engineering Manager as required and assist in the management of activities related to engineering Assist Engineering Management with ongoing development and strengthening of procedures and related documentation in accordance with AS9100 Assist in guidance of development towards DFM, MIL-PRF-38534 and relevant associated standards in support of new products and processes Qualifications: Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience Knowledge and Experience: Electronics engineering background Practical understanding of microelectronics assembly High reliability microelectronics design and development experience Experience in aerospace or industries with similar requirements Working knowledge of any of the following Cadence / Pantheon / Eagle / AutoCad / Solidworks / Cam350 / GC Powerplace (desirable) Familiarity with PCBA techniques, thick film hybrid technologies and electronic test methodologies (desirable) Competencies: Excellent diagnostic and problem solving capability Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work High initiative requiring minimal prompting Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work as member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to cope with new and changing demands Ability to deal with ambiguity Other requirements: SC cleared or ability to obtain Role is office based with limited and occasional home working Occasional travel to other Spectrum Control sites and customers as required What we can offer you: Flexible working practices – we work a 9-day fortnight, offer flexitime, and work a half day Friday 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) with the option to buy up to 5 additional days Health cash plan – cash back for everyday health expenses Private healthcare Pension scheme with 6% employer contributions Life assurance – 4 x annual salary Reward and recognition platform Discount platform – retail, leisure, gym discounts and more Employee assistance programme with access to confidential counselling services Support for further training and education Relocation assistance up to £8,000 if you relocate to take up a position with us About us Spectrum Control is a global leader in managing and controlling the electromagnetic spectrum.
