Job Description:
Graduate Learning Support Assistant - Primary School - Stafford
Are you a recent graduate in Psychology (or a related field) eager to make a positive impact on the lives of primary school children? Do you want to gain valuable experience working with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you passionate about working in a supportive, inclusive environment where you can help children overcome challenges and unlock their full potential?
About the School:
A friendly and welcoming primary school in Stafford is looking for a dedicated Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to build a career in education, particularly in SEN support, while gaining valuable experience in a nurturing and professional school setting.
About the Graduate Learning Support Assistant Role:
* Full-time, long-term position, lasting through to the end of the academic year, with potential for extension
* Salary of up to £520 per week, depending on experience
* Conveniently located in central Stafford, with easy access to public transport
* Ideal for those aiming to become SEN teachers, educational psychologists, or speech and language therapists
* Work directly with children in 1-2-1 and small group settings to support their academic and personal development
* Collaborate with expert professionals, including educational psychologists and speech & language therapists, to create detailed student case studies
* Sociable working hours from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
What We’re Looking for in You:
* Hold a 2:1 or First-Class degree in Psychology (or a closely related field) from a well-regarded university
* Have a genuine passion for supporting children, particularly those with SEN
* Be patient, empathetic, and proactive in your approach to supporting students
* Have strong emotional intelligence and the ability to connect with students of all personalities in the classroom
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with students within the SEN program, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and succeed academically. The school fosters an inclusive, supportive environment where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their best. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting children’s academic and social development. This position is perfect for someone considering a career in education, particularly in SEN. Previous experience with children is a plus but not essential, as the role offers hands-on experience and training to help you develop your skills. If you're seeking a meaningful role where you can truly make a difference, this opportunity is for you.
