An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Support Secretary to work within the specialties of palliative care and oncology based at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch. Please note 1-2 days of home working per week are offered as part of an existing home working roster within the team.
You will work alongside the existing administrative team to provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial support.
You will need to be a highly motivated and flexible team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise your own workload is essential. We are looking for a support secretary with high standards and an eye for detail. You must have the ability to multi-task and work in a busy, ever-changing environment.
Previous Medical Secretarial experience would be desirable, as well as being able to work on your own initiative with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Possession of RSA stage II/III typing / word processing (or equivalent), audio transcription, GCSE English (Grade C or above) or equivalent is essential. Possession of or working towards the AMSPAR Diploma or equivalent would be a distinct advantage.
An understanding of NHS IT systems (including PAS Allscripts) is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
To provide full and comprehensive support secretarial cover to the Clinicians and Medical Secretarial department.
Ensure all routine clinical information and correspondence is up to date and available when required.
