We are excited to offer an incredible opportunity for a passionate and creative Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our Art & Design department at our welcoming and dynamic secondary school in the heart of Rochdale. Starting in September 2025, this role is perfect for an ECT eager to inspire the next generation of artists and contribute to a vibrant learning environment.
As an Art & Design Teacher, you will have the chance to teach a variety of subjects including Fine Art, Graphic Design, and 3D Design, with students from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 4. You will be supported throughout your ECT year, with a tailored induction programme and mentorship to ensure your professional development is nurtured every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and creative lessons in Art & Design that inspire students of all abilities.
Encourage and support students to explore their creativity and develop technical skills across a range of media and techniques.
Prepare students for examinations, providing constructive feedback and assessment.
Contribute to the planning, development, and improvement of the Art & Design curriculum.
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behavior and encouraging self-expression.
Participate in extracurricular activities, including art exhibitions, clubs, and school-wide events.
Collaborate with colleagues and share best practices to support whole-school development.
Support students in their personal and academic growth through mentorship and guidance.
Requirements:
A degree in Art & Design, Fine Art, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or in the process of achieving it by September 2025.
Passion for art and creativity, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
A desire to develop as a teacher and grow within a supportive school environment.
Experience in an educational or creative setting is beneficial but not essential for ECTs.
