We are looking to recruit an experienced Process Control Technician based at Hartlepool. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain plant and equipment to the current electrical safety standards. You will form part of a small team, working in the Process Control Department, to maintain, repair and calibrate all the process control systems and equipment within both our 42” and 84” pipe mills, safely and economically under the direction of the Process Control Team Leader and Engineer, Liberty Pipes (Hartlepool).
Key duties include:
* To carry out breakdown maintenance on equipment relating to process control.
* Ensure all instrumentation and control systems are calibrated.
* Keeping up to date records in electronic format of all calibration information and maintain a ten year archive of records.
* Carrying out development work, installation and commissioning of new control systems and equipment.
* Demonstrating a proactive approach to engineering problems ensuring continuous improvement is always considered as part of the day to day work.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
* Completed an electrical apprenticeship.
* Worked in a multi-skilled environment within a heavy engineering manufacturing environment.
* A systematic approach to problem solving.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge and use of computer-based maintenance software.
With experience of:
* Working effectively within a team.
* Industrial/domestic wiring.
* Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems.
* Overhead Cranes & associated safety systems.
* PLC's in the main Allen Bradley and Siemens.
* Expertise with AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems of various configurations
* Variable speed motor control with inverters and converters, including speed feedback devices.
