Job Description
SEMH Primary Teacher
* Full-time / Long-term

* Year 4 class
* Special school
* 8:30am - 3:30pm

We're working closely with a lovely special school based in the Newbury area that is looking for a teacher to join them after the Easter holidays. The school looks after a range of different special needs & disabilities but is most focused around SEMH & ASD students (aged 4-13).
The school is a lovely bunch who are very proud of the important work they do; it's challenging work but incredibly rewarding! We have a couple of TA's currently at the school joining on a permanent basis who are incredibly complimentary of staff and the support they receive.
The role
This class is a Year 4 class of 8 SEMH students where you will be supported by 2 permanent TA's who know the students well. This role can be flexible in terms of responsibilities, so whether you'd prefer to simply lead the class of students or take on a full-time teaching role (planning & marking etc) - they are open to both!
It's essential that you have worked with SEMH students before, and you must feel confident in managing challenging behaviour and preferably hold QTS. The school is open to a range of applications!
