We have a fantastic opportunity at HMP Parc to join the Novus education team as our Barbering and Grooming Trainer on a permanent, full-time basis, working 40 hours a week.
Job description
We are looking for a Barbering and Grooming Trainer to join our education team at HMP Parc in our Young Peoples Unit (16-18). You will be working alongside the education team to deliver high quality Barbering and Grooming lessons to classes of up to 6 learners. You must have experience with styling, cutting, and plaiting and have experience working with both European and Afro Caribbean hair. You will need patience, passion and understanding in your approach which will in turn help our learners to secure future employment opportunities post-release. You will be working in a fully refurbished classroom equipped with everything you will need to succeed in this role.
The successful candidate should have a genuine passion for the subject, the ability to be an outstanding teacher of their subject and be committed to raising achievement, raising aspirations, and going the extra mile.
The Prison security team are always on hand to ensure the lessons run safely and smoothly. Time is available during the day to plan the lessons, and your Local Education Manager is always on hand to provide support as and when needed.
Due to the nature of the establishment, all aspects of the role are carried out onsite - no more spending your evenings and weekends planning!

To be successful in the role of Vocational Instructor, you will need:
