Accounts Assistant & Analyst
Location: Telford, please ensure that you currently reside within a commutable distance before application.
Hours: 9am until 5.30pm but needs to be flexible to meet deadlines.
Wage: £27,000 minimum starting salary dependent on experience.
We are a small local company that values efficiency, accuracy, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative working environment. We are looking to expand our friendly team of nine who are logical thinkers, have strong numeracy, excellent multitasking experience, are detail-oriented, have very good organisational skills, can remain calm in challenging situations, and are motivated to consistently meet deadlines.
We supply general bookkeeping services in a niche industry, having clients all over the UK and USA. In addition to general bookkeeping, we also process our clients' weekly sales reports, pay their contractors, and put together other Excel-based reporting, together with working with them on breakevens and cashflow forecasting, all having to meet various weekly deadlines.
The ideal person would also have their own transport as, although we are based on a busy main Telford road, we are not on a direct bus or train route.
As an Accounts Assistant, your duties would include:
1. Processing Supplier Invoices and Expense receipts/claims through Dext and publishing into QuickBooks.
2. Making Sales invoices in QuickBooks.
3. Completing Bank Reconciliations in QuickBooks which can and often do include Contra payments, processing Credit Card Statements/Receipts, and balancing through QuickBooks.
4. Checking other entries in QuickBooks that others may/will have processed to ensure that Invoices, both Sales and Purchases, have been correctly categorised and VAT has been entered correctly.
5. Putting together breakevens.
6. Putting together and monitoring cashflows.
Accounts Assistant Requirements:
1. The candidate must have all-round excellent QuickBooks experience to include working with various 'Locations' / Departments to create multiple Profit & Loss and other reports.
2. Good knowledge of VAT for what can be reclaimed and what can't.
3. Extended Excel/Cashflow/Budgeting experience is essential.
4. Knowledge of Dext would be a great advantage but not a necessity as training can be given.
5. Enjoy working to deadlines in a fast-working environment, as we have weekly deadlines that have to be met.
6. Must be able to communicate with clients at all levels, have patience, and have a good sense of humour.
