CCTV Controller, Security
Mitie Security is recruiting a SIA licenced Security Control Room Operator for one of its key clients in Newbury Berkshire.
Shift times: Monday to Friday 07:00-19:00
Hourly rate: £12.00 p/h
A valid SIA licence in Door Supervision or Guarding is essential, a valid CCTV licence is an advantage.
You will responsible for monitoring the CCTV and access control systems as well as issuing keys and radios. The Control Room is the main point of contact during emergency situations, such as fire alarms or medical emergencies, so being able to remain calm under pressure is a must.
The Control Room Operator will need to be computer literate as a lot of their work will involve interrogating a range of different and sometimes complex systems. They will also need to be able to read, write and speak with good English.
The Control room operator will responsible for conducting routine checks of emergency equipment across the site, so attention to detail is key. There may be a requirement for the Control Room Operator to conduct internal and external patrols of the site, so they must be physically fit and able to do so.
Whilst on duty, you will be representing the Client and Mitie, so you will need to wear your uniform with pride, ensuring that it is clean and presentable at all times. We will give you all the tools you need to succeed, including a detailed induction plan and regular performance reviews. We are also able to provide a library of e-learning courses which will continue to challenge you and increase your knowledge within the security industry.

Main Duties
Operations:
-To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Operations Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
-Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's), ensuring that they are kept up to date with any changes.
-To wear their SIA licence and Mitie ID card when on site and on duty
Training
-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
-To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
-Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
-You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
