In February 2015, Parkwood Leisure purchased the Dolygaer Outdoor Centre, part of a strategy to diversify its portfolio of leisure management facilities. Dolygaer has been recognized for the quality of its services, staff, and outdoor experiences.
This role is to become a part of the Dolygaer team, assisting the Operations Manager to ensure all guests and customers enjoy a high-quality experience from the first point of contact.
ORGANISATION STRUCTURE
The post holder will report directly to the Operations Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Objectives for the Receptionist / Front of House Position:
1. Act as the first point of contact for customers coming into, calling, or emailing the Centre.
2. Ensure that all customers and guests are received in a friendly, polite, and service-oriented manner.
3. Take bookings, handle cash, and answer enquiries via telephone, in person, or by email.
4. Process payments through the till system for the cafe, day activities, and other transactions.
5. Serve customers of the cafe, including basic food handling.
6. Work as part of a team to ensure that customers are hosted well and their needs are understood and met.
7. Deliver a warm, friendly, and professional approach with high standards of customer care to generate customer loyalty.
8. Understand the range of activities offered to assist customers with their choices.
9. Be responsible for own Health & Safety and that of the centre, implementing and assessing practices and drawing attention to any unsafe practices.
10. Communicate with customers via emails, social media, and booking systems in a polite and professional manner.
11. Promote the Centre positively and maintain displays of promotional material.
12. Receive telephone, written, and personal bookings and payment for the Centre’s facilities.
13. Ensure cash handling and reconciliation of monies is carried out.
14. Operate telephones, radios, and the computer booking system while on duty.
15. Promote and control items for resale and hire.
16. Keep the reception/cafe clean, tidy, and a pleasant environment.
17. Take detailed messages and respond to/transfer customers appropriately, dealing with queries wherever possible.
18. Undertake duties related to the cafe - making hot drinks, upselling items, simple prep, and serving hot food.
19. Comply with and understand Food Hygiene regulations.
20. Perform general ad-hoc duties - filing, scanning, photocopying, archiving, and correspondence.
21. Manage incoming/outgoing post and deliveries, including tracking orders.
22. Undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of the Centre.
THE CANDIDATE
Qualifications
Should hold GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above, or a similar qualification. The main requirement will be good interpersonal skills and a friendly disposition. Hold a food hygiene certificate or be prepared to undertake this.
