If you’re a proven sales leader ready to reignite sales performance in one of the UK’s largest multi-site hospitality businesses, this could be your most exciting challenge yet.
With a national remit and a diverse portfolio of venues, we’re seeking someone to bring a fresh perspective, strategic vision, and the energy to inspire teams across the country.
The Company
This is a business built on creating unforgettable experiences. Operating across a diverse portfolio of over 50 venues – from bustling stadia and arenas to elegant cultural landmarks and cutting-edge conference centres – they play a pivotal role in shaping memorable moments for guests across the UK. As the business embarks on a transformation journey, there’s a renewed focus on commercial performance, elevating customer experiences, and driving operational excellence.
With ambitious growth goals and untapped sales potential, they’re seeking a Sales Director to lead a revitalised sales strategy and unlock the next stage of their journey.
The Role
This is a pivotal leadership role with national responsibility, overseeing a team of four heads of departments with wider teams beneath them. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you'll be tasked with developing and delivering a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue across the business’s MICE and hospitality offerings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Defining and implementing a group-wide sales strategy.
* Leading and mentoring the sales leadership team to ignite performance.
* Improving enquiry conversion rates and maximising revenue across venues.
* Building and strengthening relationships with key clients and partners.
* Developing future business pipelines while protecting existing client relationships.
* Working in close collaboration with marketing, operations, and other commercial functions.
* Driving a more dynamic, hungry, and results-oriented sales culture.
* Introducing best practices, processes, and innovation into the sales function.
The Person
We're looking for a driven, commercially astute sales leader who thrives in a dynamic, national role. You'll need to be equally at home influencing stakeholders at board level as you are inspiring front-line sales teams.
Essential experience and qualities include:
* Significant experience (minimum 15 years) in direct sales, ideally within hotels, venues, or hospitality – with a strong MICE industry network.
* Proven track record in driving sales performance and delivering against targets in multi-site environments.
* Hands-on leader with experience managing and engaging high-performing sales teams.
* Exceptional influencing skills and the ability to align different stakeholders across functions.
* Strategic thinker who can set the vision while remaining close to the detail.
* Experience implementing best practice and innovation in sales environments.
* Understanding of on and offline marketing to drive enquiries and support conversion.
* Excellent communication skills – confident in pitching, negotiating, and representing the business externally.
* Highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented.
* Flexible, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently in a large, complex business.
* Passionate about transforming sales culture and motivating teams.
