About The Role
As a Quality Engineer at Aberdeen Adviser, you will ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Reporting to the Quality Engineering Chapter Lead, you will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to foster a quality-first mindset. Your role involves testing, mentoring, defining test strategies, and advocating for testing best practices in a polyglot environment, using modern testing tools and approaches.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and execute automated and manual tests to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality from the start.
3. Guide test planning and coverage for performance, security, and usability.
4. Mentor engineers on testing best practices, CI/CD, and automation.
5. Develop and maintain automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
6. Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability issues.
7. Advocate for system reliability, load testing, and resilience scenarios.
8. Document defects clearly and contribute to technical documentation.
9. Select appropriate testing frameworks for different tech stacks.
10. Continuously improve QA processes and share knowledge.
About The Candidate
Ideal candidates will have experience in manual and automated testing, familiarity with testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Jest, JUnit, Postman), and knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and CI/CD pipelines. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and mentoring skills are essential, along with an agile mindset and proactive approach to quality improvement.
