Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency and commercial success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the commercial management of projects, ensuring financial control from inception to completion.
* Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
* Manage subcontractor procurement, ensuring value for money and compliance with company standards.
* Conduct cost reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
* Handle contract negotiations, variations, and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Work closely with project teams to ensure the successful delivery of:
* Foundations (inclusive of all types).
* Heavy civils work.
* Internal drainage and services installation.
* Utility network development.
* Infrastructure improvements and enhancements.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Provide detailed commercial advice and support to project managers and stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks and civil engineering.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement.
* Experience managing complex infrastructure projects, including drainage, utilities, and foundations.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare detailed financial reports.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* RICS or CIOB accreditation (preferred but not essential).
