About the role
Our client, a prestigious estate based in Durham, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the smooth running of its financial operations primarily and contribute to the successful management of the Estate being a pivotal part of dedicated team supporting the stunning heritage surroundings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified AAT or part or qualified ACA/ACCA professional with experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.
Please note: The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and have their own transport due to the rural location.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing invoices across multiple entities.
* Weekly and monthly bookkeeping, ensuring accurate financial records.
* Regular reconciliation of bank and inter-entity balances.
* Assisting with VAT returns, including Partial Exemption calculations.
* Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts.
* Assisting with credit control, including debtor and creditor reviews.
* Supporting estate events, including hosting school visits.
* Providing general assistance to the Financial Controller as required.
Person Specification:
* Qualified AAT or part-qualified ACA/ACCA with relevant experience.
* Strong accounts preparation and reconciliation skills.
* Experience with AutoEntry, Xero, and MS Excel (preferred).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong team player, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Study support may be available depending on experience.
