The Role
Lancaster City Council Compliance are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who will be responsible for the management and procurement of the council’s corporate utility contracts. Based within the Asset and Compliance Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the electricity, gas and water supplies across the councils commercial and corporate portfolio as well as the communal spaces within the councils housing portfolio.
In addition, the successful candidate will also help the delivery of the council’s emerging Housing and Property Climate Strategy by overseeing the support provided to council housing tenants and assisting with the delivery of the energy improvements works of the councils housing portfolio. This will include managing targeted energy improvement projects and seeking external funding where available
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience of managing the energy contracts of a large property portfolio. This will allow you to demonstrate that you have the skills to do things differently, to try and test new ways of working, and to drive system change needed to bring about efficiencies and savings within the administration of the energy contracts. You will also have experience of managing projects and working with internal and external partners to deliver energy improvement measures. The successful candidate must be able to evidence the requirements laid out in the Job Description and you must be flexible in your approach to the overall workload of the team.
This role is permanent. The working hours for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall, with some hybrid-working available dependant on the needs of the service.
