Your Role as Assistant SENCO: Support the SENCO in managing and coordinating the school’s SEN provision, ensuring that the needs of all students are met. Help assess and identify students with SEN, working closely with teachers and support staff to implement tailored interventions. Assist in the development, monitoring, and review of Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) for students with more complex needs. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their potential. Support teachers with differentiation in lessons and provide guidance on best practices for inclusive teaching. Help track and monitor progress, ensuring interventions are effective and that students are progressing in their learning. Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure that the needs of students are met and progress is communicated effectively. Assist with SEN-related administrative tasks, such as updating records and preparing reports. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Experience working in a SEN support role (Teaching Assistant, SENCo Assistant, or similar). ✅ A passion for supporting children’s learning and development in an inclusive and nurturing environment. ✅ Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, staff, and parents. ✅ A good understanding of the SEN Code of Practice, EHCP processes, and the types of interventions that support children with SEN. ✅ Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to supporting students with diverse needs. ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
