This role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join a newly established Customs and Freight Forwarding Department. The role comes with responsibility for the timely completion of all customs procedures for both Import and Export shipments.
ROLE: European Roadfreight & Customs Manager
LOCATION: Aylesbury/Haddenham/Buckinghamshire
SALARY: £45K-£50K dependent upon experience
HOURS: Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm
DUTIES
To liaise with clients and European partners to ensure the timely turnaround of customs documentation in line with HMRC & Border Force procedures.
Working in collaboration with our key clients and the internal operations team to ensure smooth delivery processes. In essence, the Freight Forwarding and Customs Manager is required to ensure all documentation and clearance procedures are completed in a timely and orderly manner to facilitate the efficiency of our clients' supply chain.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
1. Act as the central point of contact for the site in relation to all Customs Import & Export matters.
2. Ensure correct documentation is received from customers, European partners, and external customs brokers. Facilitate smooth transactions and fulfill all requirements to support our European agents and appointed brokers processed in a timely and efficient manner.
3. Work closely with the Operations and Warehouse team to ensure timely movement of goods inbound and outbound.
4. Be responsible for the correct and organized process utilized with respect to our ETSF, ensuring goods are cleared correctly and in line with HMRC & Border Force regulations.
5. Be responsible for all processes and procedures relating to all Import and Export shipments utilizing our nominated required software and IT systems including Destin8.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Previous import experience within the European freight sector.
2. Experience of completing Customs clearances.
3. Preferably knowledge of using Destin8.
4. Excellent client/relationship building skills.
5. Team player.
