Compliance Officer – Grade F
About the role:
An opportunity has arisen to be part of the Council’s Private Housing Team, helping to drive up standards in privately rented homes. The team investigates poor housing conditions, domestic noise, anti-social behaviour, housing-related nuisances such as pest infestations, hoarding, and accumulations of waste. The team works intensively in areas where there are high numbers of privately rented homes to make sure these are well managed, to help tackle poverty and to link people with the services they need.
The role will involve offering advice and support to residents and landlords, working with vulnerable tenants, making referrals to services, carrying out property inspections, determining compliance with landlord license conditions, and taking enforcement action. You will manage your caseload, produce reports, monitor and update information systems, and identify areas where intervention is required to solve problems.
