The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Officer based in the councils multi award winning Home Improvement Agency. The post holder will be responsible for the successful delivery of services aimed at supporting private sector vulnerable residents to undertake repairs and disabled adaptations to their homes.
You will have experience of surveying residential properties and managing construction works from inception through to completion. You should hold a minimum of a Higher National Qualification in a building related subject.
You will be responsible for advising on appropriate measures and for managing works to ensure they are satisfactorily completed to pre-agreed budgets and within agreed timescales.
The post holder will have the ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of prioritising workloads. You will have direct contact with colleagues in other services, key partner organisations and members of the public. You will have excellent numeracy, keyboard and communication skills and will be committed to high standards of customer service.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to carry out home visits throughout the district.
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9.00 until 5.00 pm. This post will be classed as a hybrid worker with the ability to work from home and council sites within the District. This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall.
