Are you interested in research careers and research culture, and making a real difference in the area of biomedical data science? This role will give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience as a foundation for your future career.
This role is the key position in a Medical Research Council funded project with the aim of improving and promoting careers and leadership in biomedical data science. It is a collaborative project between the Universities of Leeds, York, Sheffield and Teesside, and with a broad range of partners from industry and other sectors. The recent explosion in the availability of biomedical data and the increased power of AI related methodology means that biomedical data science specialists and professionals are of increasing importance across the UK economy, from university research to industry and the NHS. Despite this, careers in the area face significant challenges, and there is a need for research and real change to attract and retain talented people. The project will survey careers and career progression across all sectors, identify best practice and instigate change. It will investigate and promote inter-sectorial links and set up career support structures to provide advice and mentorship. The role requires an enthusiastic and flexible individual to drive forward the project on all fronts and achieve a successful outcome.
