As a Surgical CBU Team we have recently undergone a shift in structure which has opened up an exciting opportunity in the position of RTT Validation Senior Clerk. If you have a background in administration of patient pathways, booking appointments or are excited by data quality this role could be for you.
As the RTT Validation Senior Clerk you will carry out timely, accurate and relevant validation, quality assurance checks and proactive management of the 18 Week Wait and Suspected Cancer Pathways.
The post holder will have the freedom to design and deliver bespoke training packages to individuals and/or group staff members.
Working closely with Service Managers and Operational Support Managers within the CBU you will maintain and enhance data quality by identifying ways to improve processes through validation and develop Standard Operating Procedures.
You will be responsible for assessment of complex patient pathways through analysis and evaluation of options in order to determine appropriate 18WW RTT status coding.

Main duties of the job
1. To work closely with the CBU, Service Manager and Operational Support Manager to support the business and operational needs of the Clinical Business Unit.
2. To use prolonged concentration to undertake complex analyses requiring accuracy and attention to detail when assessing complex 18WW RTT pathways.
3. To monitor data quality across the CBU in relation to the 18WW referral.
4. To analyse complex patient pathways in order to identify areas of poor 18WW RTT status, coding practice and highlight them to the relevant Admin and Clerical manager.
5. Arrange meetings and maintain action logs / minutes in regard to RTT data compliance, waiting times, clock stops, errors found and provide regular reports on progress.
6. Deliver bespoke training to individual and group staff members.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) including English Language at Grade C (or equivalent) or above.
* NVQ Level 3 Administration or Customer Care/IT or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience.
* ECDL or equivalent.

Experience
* Experience of operational administrative work within the NHS.
* Relevant experience of tracking patients through the 18 Week Wait Referral to Treatment and suspected cancer pathways.
* Experience of delivering 1-1 training.
* Experience of delivering group training.
Knowledge and Awareness
* A demonstrable and in-depth understanding of the NHS 18 Week Wait Referral to Treatment target, associated principles and their application.
* A demonstrable and in-depth understanding of the NHS Cancer target, associated principles and their application.
* A demonstrable understanding of the importance of data quality and the impact of poor quality on operational systems.
* A willingness to undertake training as required to deliver the duties of the post.
* Knowledge of the Cancer Outcomes and Services Data set.
