Overview:
A specialist education provider in Meldreth, Hertfordshire is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 6-19 who have a range of moderate and severe learning difficulties (MLD and SLD), including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and associated difficulties, and require an individualised, specialist approach.

Role Summary:
The Teaching Assistant will support students with learning, personal development, and well-being, ensuring they have the best opportunity to reach their full potential. This may involve care support, behaviour management, and adapting learning approaches to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils.
2. Promote independence, personal development, and high behavioural expectations.
3. Support the Class Teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
4. Adapt to the changing needs of the school, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment.
5. Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals to meet students' needs.
6. Maintain accurate records of incidents, behaviour, and progress.
Requirements:
1. GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - Essential
2. Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools (or equivalent) - Desirable
3. Understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures
4. Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or Autism (preferably in an education setting)
5. A positive, creative, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils
