We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Preston, a category B prison located in Preston.
HMP Preston is a remand male prison for ages 18+ with a capacity of 680.
Hours:
This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, with shifts covering:
* Monday - Friday: 8.30am - 8.30pm
* Weekends / Bank Holidays: 8.30am - 4.30pm
Salary:
This position is full-time, with an annual salary between £42,094 - £47,466 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients’ mental health needs.
* Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social, and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
* Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalized and informed by what matters to them.
* Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
* Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies and procedures, always considering safeguarding.

* Occupational Therapist or Social Worker - HCPC / NMC Registered
* Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
