A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Dental Nurse to join our forward thinking Orthodontic Team at St. Luke's Hospital. We are a very busy department and we are looking for a reliable, friendly and enthusiastic individual who is willing to work as part of a team of dental nurses but also within a wider disciplinary team including Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry.
You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a pleasant disposition and also have knowledge of a range of dental procedures.
Skills / Qualifications Required:
* The National Certificate for Dental Nurses/NVQ Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 3
* Registration with The General Dental Council is essential.
Main duties of the job
To assist medical / dental staff at the chair side and be involved in nurse led clinics providing high quality care to the patients of the Orthodontic and Maxillofacial Departments.
With the medical / dental team assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care and work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in providing a first class service for all patients and carers.
The post holder will work in a team of dental nurses in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial but also within a wider multidisciplinary team within the department.
The Orthodontic specialty is closely linked to Maxillo-facial Surgery Department and Plastic Surgery Department, especially through the work associated with Orthognathic surgery and Cleft Lip & Palate patients.
Nurses will work as part of the multidisciplinary team. They will be required to work in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department and the Orthodontic Department.
