We’re looking for a solicitor to join our employment law team, working from our Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Inverness office.
THE ROLE
Join our Chambers UK 2025 and Legal 500-ranked employment team, focusing on employer-based matters. You’ll advise clients on a range of employment law issues and represent them in employment tribunals
Responsibilities include –
· Advising on the employment aspects of transactions, such as corporate and outsourcing projects
· Handling day-to-day employment queries, including disciplinary and grievance matters
· Managing collective matters, such as redundancies, integration, and TUPE
· Advising on trade union matters
· Representing clients in tribunal litigation
Based in our Aberdeen, Inverness, or Edinburgh office, you’ll –
· Manage your own caseload and assist with complex cases with team support
· Delivery high-quality client care
· Handle both contentious and non-contentious employment matters for employers and employees
· Work with clients in person and remotely, attending tribunals and court when required
· Participate in business development activities
· Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering regulations, including client verification

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
To meet the demands of this role, you’ll ideally have at least four years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in Employment Law.
You should have a strong track record of advising clients and representing them in employment tribunals.
You’ll be able to demonstrate –
· The ability to identify key issues and conduct effective legal merits assessments
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· A team-focused approach, with the ability to work independently
· Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask
· Attention to detail, particularly when working with figures
· Confidence in making timely, well-considered decisions
· Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Word) and ideally familiarity with case management systems
· Commercial awareness and the ability to assess risks effectively
Your experience should include managing a caseload that covers –
· Settlement agreements
· Constructive, unfair, and wrongful dismissal cases
· Sickness absence issues
· Discrimination and whistleblowing claims
· ACAS early conciliation
· Employment tribunals
