An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool for a dynamic Staff Nurse to join our well established team of highly motivated and committed nursing staff within Broadgreen Daycase Unit.
The ward areas offer a supportive working environment alongside opportunities to develop individual clinical competence.
It is an excellent ward to learn if you are starting your nursing career and to continue to develop your knowledge base, or if you have more experience.
We aim to provide high quality nursing care within the unit. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and dedicated to improving the patients experience.
You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop others and work closely within a Multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will always work within the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct.
Admission and discharge of patients within the elective admission process, Incorporating the elective services for Orthopaedics, Limb Reconstruction, Breast and General Surgery.
Pre and post operative care of Daycase patients, transfer of patients to in-patients wards as required and discharge planning.
After training to work in our LASU (Local Anaesthetic Surgical Unit)
Working closely with MDT team
Supporting students nurses in the workplace
The successful candidate must be driven to develop new skills and knowledge whilst always keeping the patient at the centre of what they do.
They must be a positive role model and lead by example.
Applicants must possess excellent communication skills, have a flexible working approach and a willingness to work as part of a forward thinking team, as well as a strong commitment to ensuring a positive hospital experience for patients and their relatives/carers.

Participate in maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all patients and carers and maintain agreed standards of nursing care.
Determines nursing priorities and plans patient care. Informs the nurse in
charge when changes in circumstances may affect patient care.
Maintain nursing records in accordance with the NMC and Trust guidelines.
Maintain and improve quality of patient care through contribution to the
development of Essence of Care and clinical benchmarking within the unit.
Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of
patients.
Providing information and support to patients/carers, and ensuring all those involved in the care are aware of changes in the patients’ condition.
Assist in the safe custody, checking and administration of drugs.
To develop the clinical knowledge and skills to care for acutely ill patients
admitted via both planned route.
