Performance Engineer - Energy from Waste
Astute are working on behalf of a leading operator of Energy from Waste plants to find a Performance Engineer for their largest asset located in the South East of England.
The Energy from Waste site in the Kent area has a capacity to process 550,000 tonnes of waste per year, generating 34MW of power for the surrounding area.
As a Performance Engineer you will be responsible for monitoring plant performance & introducing improvements across operational plant performance, safety, responsibility & profitability.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Performance Lead, typical duties will include:
1. Responsible for monitoring & tracking operational plant performance & identifying improvement projects.
2. Project management of improvement projects which will involve liaising with the operations, maintenance & engineering departments, as well as managing external contractors.
3. Conducting data analysis & manipulation via the DCS control system to identify trends & areas for improvement.
4. Ensuring HSE compliance & being authorised to issue safety documentation.
5. Analysis of commercial performance & losses to identify improvements for profitability & cost saving.
6. Delivering presentations & in-depth reports for the management team.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
1. Qualified to HNC / HND / degree level in a relevant engineering discipline.
2. IOSH or NEBOSH in Health & Safety is advantageous but not essential.
Personal skills:
The Performance Engineer would suit someone who has:
1. Experience working with industrial plant from a similar environment such as Power Station, Refinery, COMAH, Utilities plant etc.
2. Data analysis & manipulation experience via a DCS control system.
3. Project experience as you'll be responsible for performance improvement projects.
4. Strong interpersonal skills as you will be required to liaise with multi-disciplined teams across the operations, maintenance & engineering departments.
5. Presentation skills as you will be required to provide reports relating to technical data.
