Job Summary:
£40,000- £46,000 annual base salary
To provide comprehensive HR administration services and HR advice & support to the Company. The HR Advisor is the first point of contact for all HR duties at the Chesterfield location. This role provides advice, support, and guidance on a wide range of employee and employment matters. As part of the administration, this person owns the HR information systems and is responsible for managing, collating, and processing all payroll data. The HR Advisor reports to the global Vice President of Human Resources who resides in the United States. The global HR team is comprised of six members.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HR function and employee experience, Business partner to the Director of Operations includes the creation of job specifications, liaison to external recruitment agencies, arranging interviews, pre-screening candidates, collating interview feedback forms, and managing the onboarding and offboarding process for all employees
Maintain personnel files and employee data/records both on the T&A System (InfoTime) and the electronic files, ensuring they are accurate and complete whilst ensuring compliance with GDPR.
Update monthly headcount reports, uniform stock counts, and holiday logs.
Administer all letters & communications between the Company and employees; creating templates for letters/new company documents.
Administer absence management policy including recording absences on the Time & Attendance system (InfoTime), ensure Managers complete Return to Work interviews timely, submit weekly attendance figures to the Company scorecard and the Organisation data files.
Collate & verify all payroll data & the monthly submission of this data to the Outsourced Payroll provider. This includes weekly analysis of Shopfloor hours, ensuring all pay elements are correct, calculating all holiday pay adjustments, and pension auto enrollment.
Administer HR KPI data collection and reporting (including information on starters/leavers, attendance, headcount, payroll costs, overtime, training, recruitment, charity events, etc.)
Provide HR advice & support to Managers concerning all staffing matters, including disciplinary issues, grievances, redundancies, settlements, performance management, training needs, salary reviews, etc.
Manage all accident claims and employment claims, including preparing and possibly attending tribunals, alongside the third-party solicitors.
Support the implementation of new procedures and policies.
Other ad-hoc HR projects – may include employee surveys, sourcing appropriate training courses, salary-benchmarking reviews, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years experience in an Operational HR Support role
Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment supporting onsite and hybrid employees
Strong employee relations experience preferred
Prior experience in creating a positive work environment for employees including change management and improving employee retention metrics
Experience working within a union and non-union environment
Strong verbal and written communications skills required including strong follow-up skills
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development - level 3 essential
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development - level 5+ preferred
