Position Summary This position leads the manufacturing and related plant operations at the Leicester facility. Responsibilities are focused on the high-quality, on-time delivery of products to Customers globally. The Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager will lead the team in implementing these strategies and achieving business objectives. This includes the site management for manufacturing, maintenance and safety. Through effective leadership, he/she will drive continuous improvement in operating performance to deliver results and achieving established Key Performance Indicators. Duties 1. Manage and coordinate overall plant operations. 2. Manage the Maintenance Department, including the scheduling, installation, repair and upkeep of company property, including machines, mechanical systems, facilities and structure of the building. 3. Oversee management of and drive continuous improvement activities through the deployment of lean tools with support from the Corporate Lean Enterprise team. Create a lean culture through effective management while striving for year over year improvements in KPIs. 4. Monitors existing and new manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through lean problem-solving methodology. 5. To assume prime site responsibility for all Health and Safety Policy issues ensuring that all activities comply with Health and Safety procedures and guidelines. To ensure that all designated staff are informed and trained appropriately. 6. Develop and maintain a safe work environment consistent with UK legislation. 7. Support regulatory audit activities and determine plant policies consistent with company, quality, and regulatory guidelines. Duties - contd 1. Develop proposals for capital expenditures and makes budget recommendations for the manufacturing operation. 2. Ensure the operations have the proper organisational structure and talent to support company strategic and tactical goals. Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to develop staff members’ managerial and technical skills. 3. Manage the production of all products within established cost and quality standards in accordance with Customer requirements, design specifications, production schedules, and cost work standards. 4. Resolve employee issues through consistent and fair application of company policies. Establish and maintain rapport with employees and encourage individual and group communications. 5. Ensure build schedules to meet Customer needs. 6. Control activities and expenditures to ensure operating within established budgets. 7. Promote and represent Albert Browne/STERIS and host Customers and other visitors. 8. Process Employee performance reviews and salary adjustments in a timely manner. 9. Establish, monitor, direct and achieve agreed upon business metrics, goals and objectives. 10. Responsible for assigned private label brands. Education Degree • Bachelors Degree Required Experience 1. Proven extensive experience in manufacturing operations and procedures. 5 years 2. Thorough understanding of the functional mechanics and general practices and operations of Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, Materials Management and Quality System requirements. 5 years 3. Can demonstrate extensive knowledge of managing facility wide safety. 5 years 4. Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. 3 years 5. Can demonstrate how they have lead, motivated and mentored team members. 6. Experience of using an ERP system e.g. Oracle Preferred Experience 1. Recognised Management Qualifications. 2.
