We require a caring, compassionate, friendly and highly motivated Housekeeper to join our team on Ward 6A and 6B. You will possess excellent communication skills, work well as part of a team and have the ability to work in a busy and challenging environment whilst using your own initiative.
6A is a General Medical/Endocrine ward and ward 6B is General Medical/neurology, caring for a wide range of conditions including patients who may be living with Dementia or have an acute delirium therefore kindness, compassion, empathy and patience is essential.
• To clear crockery, etc used outside routine clearing periods.
• To tidy/clean sluice and linen storage areas as required.
• To tidy and clean other areas on the ward on a daily or weekly as planned/scheduled.
• To assist with meals, support patients, staff and relatives as required as the ward has a protected meal times policy.
• To support with hydration and nutrition rounds
• Cleaning of all equipment on the ward.
• Ordering of stock/supplies and storage
• To create and maintain effective working relationships with other members of staff.
• To answer the telephone in a professional manner.
• To follow Health and Safety policies relevant to working environment and attend mandatory updates in accordance with Trust policy eg fire procedure and food hygiene.
• To adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
• To highlight potential hazards to the Nurse in Charge
• To handle appropriate equipment safely, following training/instruction.
• To decontaminate equipment according to infection control policies.
• To report faulty equipment to the Estates Department.
• To work under the direction of the Nurse in Charge with any duties, support requested.
Ward 6A and 6B are both 16 bedded wards which specialises in a wide range of conditions including Complex Care.

• Participate in regular supervision.
• Attend all mandatory training.
• Participate annually identifying, developing and agreeing your own development plan with your Line Manager using the Trust Appraisal.
• Comply with all Trust policies, procedures and protocols.
• Carry out duties with due regard to the Trust’s Equal Opportunity Policy.
• Seek advice and support from Line Manager whenever necessary.
• Maintain professional conduct including appearance at all times.
• Ensure maintenance of Professional Registration.
