This regional law firm boasts a rich heritage in Kent and has an excellent reputation in the local and wider community for its high-quality services. The firm are now looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join on a part-time basis (3 or 4 days p/w).

The Role
As the Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, particularly those set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining compliance policies, conducting audits, providing training, and staying updated on relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures, focusing on SRA regulations.
6. Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments.
7. Provide advice and guidance on compliance issues related to SRA requirements.
8. Keep abreast of regulatory developments affecting the legal sector.
9. Deliver compliance training sessions to staff, emphasising SRA compliance.
10. Investigate and address any compliance breaches in accordance with SRA guidelines.
11. Liaise with the SRA and other regulatory bodies as necessary.
Requirements:
12. Proven experience as a Compliance Officer within a legal environment, with a specific focus on SRA compliance.
13. Sound knowledge of SRA regulations and other relevant legislation.
14. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
16. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
17. Relevant qualifications in law, compliance, or a related field preferred.
