As a People Officer at Gist, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the HR department at your site. You will provide an effective advisory service to management and employees, assisting the People Manager in providing robust HR strategy and advice, focusing on engagement at all stages of the employee lifecycle. Hours: 37.5 per week Working pattern: Monday to Friday, with flexibility as required Location: Site – Faversham, ME13 7TW What you’ll do: Your key accountabilities will include: Ensuring the operational success and development of the HR department, working closely alongside senior site management Providing guidance on HR policies and processes Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, providing advice on all aspects of Company policy, best practice, employee relations and employment law Providing an efficient internal customer service to managers and employees, spending time each week in their environment. Provide first line advice on current and existing benefits for employees and managers. Assist the People Manager and General Manager in developing and driving the site people plans Absence management Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals. Participate in the implementation of specific projects Support change management processes Delivery of induction training for new starters, consistently updating welcome pack information Ensure appropriate forums are routinely held to ensure open and 2-way communication Support the site with fulfilling their resourcing plans Ensuring all elements of HR administration are carried out - e.g. starters, leavers, referencing, security and compliance checks, etc Assist with all aspects of recruitment and selection on site Maintaining accurate and up-to date information on the HR system Weekly/Monthly management reports Responsibility for various ad-hoc HR and Administrative tasks Regular meetings with site trade union. RTW Fun at work Who you are: Your skills and experience will include: Experience within a similar HR Advisory/Officer position Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards Previous experience within the FMCG, logistics and supply chain or retail sector would be highly desirable Exposure to a unionised environment Excellent relationship building skills Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload Creative with the ability to make decisions and have confidence in your own convictions Experienced in managing TUPE (Desirable) Why Gist?
