As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Territory Sales Managers, technical support and 2 internal sales staff covering the Midands area, within a leading UK manufacturer of sustainable and innovative packaging solutions. This is a chance to join a close-knit team within a family business and drive the business forward.
Working closely with the estimation and technical team, you will ensure your team achieves their targets while developing key customer relationships, devising and leading the development and execution of a structured sales and marketing strategy, focusing on 80% key account management and 20% new business growth, driving revenue, and enhancing profitability.
Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of four sales professionals, driving performance and professional growth.
Develop and implement a territory sales and marketing strategy that maximises key account retention and expands new business opportunities.
Manage and grow relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships and revenue growth.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding our market presence.
Set and monitor sales and commission targets, ensuring team success and profitability.
Work closely with internal departments to align sales strategies with production, operations, and customer service.
Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform strategic decision-making.
Regularly report on sales performance, pipeline activity, marketing and market insights to senior management.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in sales leadership, managing and developing high-performing teams.
A strong background in territory sales, key account management, and new business development, ideally within packaging, manufacturing, or related industries.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to develop and implement structured sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
A hands-on leader who can inspire and motivate a team to achieve and exceed targets.
Strong commercial awareness with experience in forecasting, reporting, marketing and business planning.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.
