Legal Counsel / Commercial Lawyer is required to join one of the largest energy suppliers in the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join an established legal team currently undergoing some exciting and innovative projects within energy and infrastructure.
As the Legal Counsel / Commercial Lawyer, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing advice on all aspects of new and existing energy infrastructure projects which include one of the largest low carbon heating and cooling systems.
2. Providing advice on development, construction and operation of such projects and working with commercial leads to help develop innovative decarbonisation strategies.
3. Advising on regulatory changes and amending existing contracts as well as developing new contracts in line with upcoming regulation changes.
4. Drafting and negotiating a full spectrum of commercial contracts including heat network contracts, waste heat off take and private wire agreements.
As the Legal Counsel / Commercial Lawyer, you will have:
1. Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX.
2. Experience of drafting high value and complex commercial contracts.
3. Ability to work independently on complex matters but also as part of a wider project team within the business and with external stakeholders.
4. An understanding of working for a regulated environment; candidates that have worked in the energy industry or a regulated environment would be ideal but not a necessity.
5. Strong commercial acumen.
