The Service The Economy, Transport and Planning Directorate plays an important part in delivering the City Vision and our ambitious plans to regenerate Portsmouth. This role is within our Business Support Team who provide support services as diverse as business support officers, programme delivery support and assurance, community engagement, building information management and bid management. We work with property, planning, transport and infrastructure experts and our specialist colleagues in Business Management to ensure our initiatives are successful and our everyday business operations are supported effectively and efficiently. Your new role Based in the Civic Offices in Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, you will be responsible for a varied range of administrative and enabling tasks, delivering right across the Directorate including data entry and recording, purchasing and transactional finance. You will also deal with customer interactions including sorting and routing post, recording and routing enquiries from councillors and the public to the appropriate office and monitoring progress against service targets. You will also provide administrative support at meetings, as well as other administrative tasks according to the needs of the business. What you'll need to succeed You will be able to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines. You will also have good attention to detail and accuracy as well as a clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection. You will understand workflow systems and be able and willing to develop specific system knowledge via training and support. You will have good basic IT skills and be familiar with M365 including Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
