365 People are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person who has a flexible attitude to carry out servicing, repair, and examinations on a variety of overhead cranes within our busy Fabrication Workshop. Successful candidates must show:
1. Proven experience working as an engineer in this field, with knowledge of diagnosing and repairing faults and a good understanding of both LOLER and PUWER.
2. Background in electrical and mechanical engineering with a good understanding of general engineering fundamentals.
3. The ability to work at height.
4. CSCS and other relevant qualifications are recommended, although additional and ongoing training is provided.
5. An understanding of the principles of working to risk assessments and method statements.
6. Physically fit and able to work at heights.
7. Ability to work the required hours and willingness to work overtime (weekdays and weekends) if required - there is a possibility of callouts outside of the normal working hours, however, these are exceptionally rare.
Furthermore, this role is solely based at the workshop in Dudley, therefore will not include travelling to various sites.
The role will include:
1. The inspection and maintenance of overhead cranes and lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER guidelines.
2. Breakdown investigation (electrical and mechanical) and repair of all equipment.
3. Installation of any new equipment.
4. Completing all the necessary associated paperwork in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.
5. Working alongside our existing mechanical maintenance operative and electrician to maintain a workshop that can continue constant production.
