SDUK's brands include the Nation’s favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy-free products.
This position is a key role within the production of our whey-based products, which ultimately end up in infant-formula, a huge area of continued growth for the business. Within the role, you will be supervising and leading production teams across multiple areas of the site to ensure the plant is meeting targets whilst maintaining quality.
The role will also have responsibilities for staff management, such as recruitment, performance management, and ensuring the safety of the working environment.
We are looking for a problem-solver who can bring a structured approach to challenges to ensure consistency and bring others into the process to encourage buy-in and accountability.
We’ll also be looking to you to be a part of our continuous improvement (CI) journey, utilising your experience working with relevant tools and data to identify and drive change.
Shift: 3-on/3-off days & nights (7-7)
YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…
1. Developing and maintaining thorough knowledge of the manufacturing process and equipment.
2. Ensuring all quality sampling, testing and documentation regimes are adhered to, with the corresponding paperwork filed as required.
3. Implementing and documenting quality systems & HACCP requirements.
4. Managing health & safety for the employees to eliminate hazards in the workplace and assure safe operating procedures are implemented.
5. Coordinating the daily activities of operations personnel to effectively manage the flow of production.
6. Overseeing training, completing reviews and any necessary disciplinary meetings, and ensuring quality procedures are adhered to.
7. Coordinating and communicating with other teams (engineering, quality, maintenance, etc.) to solve production related problems.
8. Attending tier meetings and proactively communicating plant status to the next shift supervisor and superintendent.
YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…
9. Extensively experienced with production management in food/consumables production.
10. An experienced coach with a track record of developing teams.
11. Experienced leading and managing people, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
12. An analytical problem solver, with experience working with MIP and lean techniques, and implementing and sustaining a 5S culture.
13. Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of health and safety regulations and QMS.
14. Someone with a results-driven mindset with a focus on operational excellence and meeting production targets.
