The Role Proactive management of the performance of a claims team and maintain effective oversight of a claims portfolio. To assist the claims leadership team's implementation of strategic goals and to drive delivery of excellent claims service to all customers. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the claims team to act in accordance with, drive, and further the aims set out in the claims vision. Proactive resource management, including but not limited to ensuring resource adequacy, distribution of workload and development of the team to ensure ongoing engagement. Ensure that the team delivers excellent customer service to insured clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders (including but not limited to actuarial, underwriters, outwards reinsurance and finance). Coordinate and remediate complex claim issues, including evaluating the need for escalation and facilitating prompt resolution. Ensure the team adopts adequate financial provisions for the claims portfolio. Monitor the performance of portfolio/class of business and report trends or escalate any areas of concern to relevant internal stakeholders. Analysis of claims MI to understand trends, drive performance and evolve best practice. Proactive management of your team who deliver recovery, subrogation or salvage opportunities (including from outwards reinsurance). Proactive and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management. This includes high quality reporting of individual claims, binders or events and identifying trends across a portfolio/class of business and in the wider market. Develop collaborative working partnerships with internal stakeholders, to help deliver business plan. Analysis of operational data, including key performance indicators, and deliver appropriate strategies to optimise performance and/or efficiencies. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and guidelines, escalating any risk events or known issues. Work collaboratively with other claims managers to drive delivery of the claims strategic priorities.
