We are now seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our residential childrens home in Rainham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and skilled individual to lead a dedicated team while supporting vulnerable children and young people in a warm, supportive environment. The Role: As the Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that high standards of care are consistently provided to our residents. You will help lead and motivate a team of care staff, ensuring that each childs individual needs are met, and promoting a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the Home Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including Ofsted and safeguarding. Lead by example and support your team in providing person-centered care to children and young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD). Develop and implement individual care plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated. Promote positive relationships and encourage young people to build life skills, self-esteem, and independence. Supervise, mentor, and support a team of care staff, providing guidance and feedback to help them develop their skills. Ensure staff training and development needs are met and help to maintain a motivated and effective team. Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with company policies and procedures. Work closely with external agencies, including social workers, families, and other professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for the young people in your care. What Were Looking For: A proven track record in residential care, ideally with experience working in an EBD childrens home. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent; Level 5 or willingness to work towards is preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and best practice in residential care. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with young people and professionals alike. A genuine passion for working with children and young people and a commitment to their well-being and development. A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges and problem-solving.
