Ellern Mede Ridgeway have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join the team and provide essential support in maintaining and managing building operations and infrastructure. Working under the supervision of a Facilities Manager, this role involves responding to daily maintenance requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring facilities remain safe and functional.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
1. Undertake general building maintenance & repairs throughout our buildings.
2. Adhere to all company policies & procedures, particularly to health & safety.
3. Carry out painting and decorating of the premises.
4. Test the fire alarm system and log results weekly. Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights as specified in Company procedures.
5. Test and record water temperatures as specified in Company procedures.
6. Basic knowledge in electrical, plumbing, carpentry.
7. Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
8. Provide cover for colleagues in times of absence and on-call assistance.
9. Any other duties as and when required.

* Full clean UK driving licence.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Willingness to attend training and update professional knowledge.
* Significant proven experience.

* Highly conscientious, reliable and punctual.
* English communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Able to work well in a team and unsupervised.
* Proven experience in a similar role.
