An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed individual to join a very busy Catering Department.
Based at Prince Phillip Hospital, you will have the day-to-day responsibility for providing front line supervision support to all catering staff involved in food service and food production for staff, visitors, and patients.
Main duties of the job
Applicants will preferably have some supervisory qualifications or a proven track record of supervising a large staff group. Due to the nature of the job, a professional cooking background is desirable for this role in order to be able to provide patient feeding and retail dishes.
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills together with a flexible approach to the needs of the service are essential. The post holder will work a 37.5 hour week with a requirement to work unsociable hours and weekends.

Qualifications & Knowledge
1. Good level of general education.
2. Level 3 award in Supervising Food Safety.
3. Detailed Food Hygiene knowledge.
4. Health and Safety COSHH.
5. Moving and Handling.
6. HACCP knowledge.
7. ILM Level 3 award in Supervisory Training.
8. In-depth knowledge of catering processes and procedures.
9. Knowledge of allergens and therapeutic diets.
10. City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent.
Experience
1. Experience of dealing with the general public.
2. Supervisory/team leading experience.
3. Previous NHS experience.
4. Supervisory experience in a similar establishment.
5. Experience of cleaning duties.
Language Skills
1. Welsh Speaker (level 1).
