The role We have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career an Apprentice Administrative Assistant. Based in our Guildford office, this role would suit an individual who is looking to gain hands on experience in a professional services environment. You will be working alongside our Residential Development team, who are a close-knit team of highly regarded experts in their field. In this role, you will be an integral part of the team. You will be heavily relied upon for efficiently coordinating all administrative tasks, acting as the glue to connect the dots across a wider national network. Alongside your role you will work towards achieving a Level 3 in Business Administration qualification with our provider Damar. As an Apprentice, you will support Senior team members with: Efficiently filing and maintaining current documents on the internal case management system. Completing legal forms, with assistance from fee earners. Drafting and typing supporting documents, such as letters. Dealing with requests to the Land Registry. Downloading and collating document bundles from clients and colleagues. Processing any relevant paperwork. Opening, maintaining and closing files on the internal case management system. Maintaining and developing relevant spreadsheets for the team. Making calls to clients and third parties, recording information as appropriate. Raising bills, managing outstanding invoices and arranging payment of third party fees. Supporting the team with answering any queries from the wider business. Transcribing fee earner dictations. Any other general administrative tasks. The team We are the leading residential development and urban regeneration legal team in the country acting for 18 of the top 20 UK housebuilders, institutional landowners such as Oxford University and other large-scale sector participants. We advise over the complete life cycle of new build housing from initial heads of terms, acquiring the land, obtaining planning permission, building out the scheme and the sale of the new homes. Schemes range from local developments of 50 new homes up to 20,000 unit green field urban extensions and multi-billion pound urban regeneration schemes in central London. We also advise our PLC clients at Group level on national issues such as cladding remediation post-Grenfell and Competition and Markets Authority investigations. The team, which is over 240 strong and is based in 8 of our offices across England, operates within Gateley Plc’s Property Platform. This Platform comprises over 700 lawyers, surveyors, engineers, architects, accountants and support staff who provide a unique cross-disciplinary service delivery to out wider property client base. Part of the team’s is the sale of the new homes once built. These sales, which total approximately 15,000 plots and £3 billion in revenue each year, are handled by the Plot Sales team out of three regional hubs using highly developed IT processes and automation. The person Applicants will need to have at least five GCSE's graded A - C/9-4, or equivalent. No previous experience is necessary; we will provide full training and support for these roles. We continue to develop and evolve our proposition and are looking for individuals with a 'can do' mentality to join the team and contribute to this wider goal. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate: Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Strong time management skills, being able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks. The ability to work independently when required but also as part of a team. A keen interest in administration and a desire to learn and grow professionally. Have strong organisational skills, paying particular attention to detail. Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and ability to work with spreadsheets.
