This position will serve as a technical lead in the development and continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. With key areas of focus including, quality, safety, process reliability and cost efficiency the successful candidate will strive for continued manufacturing excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct themselves in professional, respectful and ethical manner at all times, carry out all job responsibilities in accordance with site safety rules and expectations, actively participate in the innovation and improvement of the site and company, and “find a better way every day.” Main Responsibilities/Duties: Develop and implement process improvements, monitor process capability and complete an assessment of process optimization tools & methodologies. Lead root cause analysis activities to solve technical, quality or safety concerns Improve manufacturing capacity and cost Develop and implement production trials to resolve challenges and improve finished product characteristics Work with operators and process technicians to develop, improve and monitor key processes and procedures Assist in writing standard work documents, operator training programs, process flow charts etc. Interact with Shift Leaders, Technicians, and Operators to identify and address knowledge and performance gaps. Lead the effort to identify, investigate, recommend and implement equipment improvements, new systems & process changes that will improve productivity, yield, and quality and/or reduce costs. Additional requirements: Relevant Engineering Degree with a minimum of 2 years’ of experience in the engineering / Manufacturing industry Sound engineering background Experience of working in a lean manufacturing environment & culture. Being familiar and having exercises with 5 WHY, root cause analysis and TPM.
