Job summary The Point of Care Testing department at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a full time and a part-time Point of Care Testing Assistant. The full time post is 37.5 hours a week, working 7.5 hours daily from Monday - Friday and the part time post is 20.5 hours working 7.5 hours two days per week and 5.5 hours one day per week. This is an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated individuals to join the POCT team. The posts are within Pathology but involve working on wards, clinics and other areas using point of care testing equipment. Main duties of the job The role will involve assisting qualified Biomedical Scientists and performing a range of duties to support the team in delivering a high quality POCT service and the best patient care. There are over 250 POCT devices in use by clinical staff Trust wide. The team is responsible for providing training, quality assurance and supporting the service users. A full UK driving license is required to drive Trust vehicles to POCT locations away from the main hospital sites.
