Are you a driven and experienced Factory Manager with a strong background in food manufacturing? My client, a leading name in the Scottish food industry, is seeking an exceptional individual to support and influence the Senior Leadership Team while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across their site.
As Factory Manager, you will play a key role in developing and implementing the site's manufacturing strategy, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety standards, and leading a culture of quality, productivity, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and influence the Senior Leadership Team in the development and execution of the site manufacturing strategy.
* Act as a role model for Employee Engagement, coaching and mentoring teams to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement.
* Maintain and enhance Health & Safety systems, fostering a proactive culture of risk assessment and management.
* Develop and improve Food Safety and Quality systems, driving engagement and ownership among team members.
* Lead team development through standard-setting, training, and strong communication, enhancing overall productivity.
* Implement Lean Manufacturing tools to deliver proactive and corrective actions, ensuring established KPI targets are met.
* Work closely with all management functions as a key member of the Site Leadership Team.
* Oversee plant, equipment, and facility maintenance, ensuring a safe and cost-effective operation through planned strategies.
* Ensure statutory and legal compliance across the site (e.g., Pressure Systems, LEV, LOLER, Ammonia).
* Manage the site’s capital plan and drive a program of continuous improvement.
* Develop criticality analyses for equipment and implement maintenance strategies to mitigate failures and improve asset performance.
What You Bring:
* A relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree, HND, or BTEC Professional qualification.
* Master Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent qualification (preferred).
* Membership of an industry-related professional body (advantageous).
* Solid experience in manufacturing and/or engineering environments.
* Proven background in people management and project management.
* Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
* Competency in decision-making, planning, and driving business performance.
